RE-ENROLLMENT
Re-enrollment contracts were sent out a few weeks ago. Please be sure to return them by March 1, 2012 so as not to incur a penalty. If you have any questions regarding re-enrollment, please feel free to contact Beth Lettengarver in the admission office.
LIFETOUCH PHOTOS
Lifetouch will be coming to take homeroom photos on the Lower School campus for grades EL through 6 on Wednesday, February 29, beginning at 8:15 a.m. Check your child’s backpack for a flyer with more information.
This is NOT a pre-paid order. Approximately 3 weeks after the photo is taken, each student will receive a copy of the 8×10 photo. If you are satisfied with the photo and would like to purchase it, you will then submit a $12.00 check to LIFETOUCH through your homeroom teacher. If you do not wish to purchase the photo, simply return it in the envelope provided back to your teacher.
Students will enjoy having a “classic” class photo as a keepsake!

Last week, our Pre-Kindergarten class and seniors from the Hobe Sound campus joined together to learn more about Africa. Both classes, 13 years and 12 miles apart, are taking time this semester to learn about the continent, its people, and the incredible resources found there. The event was big fun as the kids read together, listened to African music, did a crafts project, and enjoyed snacks.

Sixth grader Chase Finney and eighth grader Connor Shann will represent The Pine School at the Martin County Spelling Bee tomorrow, February 23, at the Blake Library, beginning at 10 a.m. Chase and Connor will be competing against at least 40 of Martin County’s finest spellers. The top ten spellers from the Martin County Spelling Bee will go on to the Regional Spelling Bee in March – Chase and Connor will undoubtedly do their best to be one of those top ten! Whatever the outcome, The Pine School is proud of these two spelling champions. GO KNIGHTS!

The Lower School Student Council recently led a campaign to raise money for the 6th grade gift. Friday, February 3, was a winter-themed dress down day for a $2 donation. The students made and hung posters, designed the flyer that was emailed home, and talked about the event among their peers. Through their efforts and the help of Lower School students, parents, teachers, and staff, they raised $400 for the end-of-the-year gift! Thank you for your support!
